City policy on vacant land and searchable database announced
The City of Philadelphia released a policy statement on the sale and reuse of city-owned property yesterday. At the same time, the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority (PRA) introduced a new website that allows developers and interested buyers to search for available city properties using an interactive map and submit an expression of interest.
The city policy is based on guiding principles for revitalizing neighborhoods, strengthening the tax base, and providing an efficient and transparent process. See the full policy paper here. The new searchable database provides details on zoning and which city agency owns the property. Upfront pricing will be made available as an on-going value assessment is completed. Visit the PRA website for details on buying property and to browse the interactive map.
