Pilot program at Citizens Planning Institute begins
11/04/2010 |
The first of three sessions was held last Thursday at the Philadelphia Citizens Planning Institute (CPI), a new public outreach and education arm of the City Planning Commission. A diverse class of 30 participants was selected from more than 80 applications and 100 inquiries. The goal of CPI is to provide an introduction to planning issues and principles, land use and zoning, and the development process. The pilot program includes a series of three classes: The Big Picture – Planning in the City; Land Use and Zoning 101; and The Development Process and Panel Discussion. CPI intends to expand course offerings in 2011. Visit www.citizensplanninginstitute.org for details.
